A visit to Schokland and Urk is worthwhile. These are two former islands in the Zuiderzee, both are part of the world heritage. On Urk, as they say, you can enjoy a delicious fish. A walk through the old town is recommended, you can also cycle on the dike next to the windmills towards Lemmer. In addition, a museum about the history can be visited on Schokland.
